This weekend I photographed my first wedding. I won’t be doing it too often, it’s just not my speed. I did this one because she is my best friend’s sister, and a wonderful woman in general. So happy for her.

Having a plan fly over your head is fucking insane. It’s thrilling. The pressure of the sound, the sheer size of the aircraft, the entire experience rushing over your head sends chills down your spine.

A while back I was driving my friend to the airport and I spotted a bunch of people on the side of the road with cameras. I figured they were plane spotting. I’d seen photos of airplanes from the belly up and always thought to myself, “How the fuck do they get that close?” Well, now I know. Today, it all sort of just happened: I was on my way to pick up my lens at the camera repair shop, and I brought my camera along so that I could make sure everything with my lens was a-okay. I had about three hours to kill before I needed to head over to YYZ and pick up my father, so I decided to find that spot again and take some photos. I smart-phoned “Places to take photos of planes in Toronto” and it gave me an address. Once I arrived, I saw a few other plane enthusiasts and I met two others around my age, Mike and Tiana. Mike was adorable.

If I haven’t already mentioned, I love airplanes. I love airports, and everything about them. The freedom, the possibility, and the stories that must take place inside airports and on airplanes—it’s all such an adventure. If a guy ever took me to the airport on a date, I think I would marry him.
